120th Murwillumbah Show
Dear Parents
Almost the end of Term 3. How quickly it has gone! Mrs Pull is now in London. Probably not the best time to be there. There would be quite a confused atmosphere in London with everything that is going on there.
Yesterday the Year 6 students travelled to Mount St Pats for the annual gathering of senior students who are transtitioning onto High School. There were eight schools that attended, St Anthony’s, St Ambrose, St James, St Joseph’s Twd Hds, St Joseph’s Sth M’bah, Mount St Pats, St John’s Mullum, St Finbarrs Byron. This event didn’t occur the last two years because of Covid. The day commenced with the Diocesan Band; Wildfire. They taught the students different songs and dance movements throughout the morning session. We then had a celebration Mass in the Sacred Heart Church. Lunch was provided after Mass in the form of a BBQ Sausage sizzle. The students inter-mingled with many other Year 6 students who will more than likely be their classmates next year. It was a very worthwhile event for all students from the northern cluster Catholic Schools.
Today was a special day for our students to pay tribute to the heroes who assisted many in the recent flood disaster. The SES and the Army were thanked and presented with cards of appreciation at our Friday assembly. Our fantastic organiser of this was Mrs Helen Renyolds. Helen coordinated these groups and was instrumental in having Louise Hall from Sydney fly up for the presentation. Louise is part of the Good Grief Program and Partnership Lead.

ST ANTHONY’S CHURCH, KINGSCLIFF
SCHOOL FAMILY/ PARISH MASS CELEBRATION 9:00am
We hope to see many St Anthony’s families at this Mass celebration.
At this Mass celebration staff from St Anthony’s will be attending to the ministry duties and there will be children’s liturgy.
Fr Ray Sanchez, a dedicated member of the Passionist Family Group Movement, is visiting our parish for the whole weekend on 15/16 October. He will be celebrating at the Parish/School Masses and sharing with us the joy and sense of belonging that can be experienced through being part of a Family Group.
After the 9.00am Kingscliff Mass, there will be a morning tea, hosted by the existing Family Groups. Stay for a presentation in the Church from Fr Ray after morning tea if you can.
Through the interaction within your Family Group you will find you are bringing a happy, loving spirit to your parish community. Children will feel they belong to a large extended family and will learn loving and caring from the examples of others.
This was how the Church first began
This is what it can be now -
“See how they love one another”
Polding Athletics Carnival
Well done to the following students who represented the Lismore Diocese at the Polding Athletics Carnival on Friday 9th September: Serge Popov, Beau Prendergast, Grace Floyd, Madison White, Harper Richards, Harper Gallagher, Kaynan Behs and Eden Usher.
Congratulations to Harper Gallagher and Eden Usher who were selected in the Polding team to compete in the NSWPSSA Athletics Carnival next Term.
Harper came 3rd in the 200m and High Jump. Eden came 2nd in the Multi-class Long Jump and 100m. Good luck Harper and Eden!
Summer 5 a-side Hockey
Is your child interested in trying a new sport? Hockey is a fun sport for children of all sizes and abilities. Summer hockey is a great option for children to try the sport over a short competition without committing to a whole season. It starts mid October and ends in December.
Hockey Tweed will be running a 5 a-side mixed competition on a Wednesday afternoon for students in Years 3-6. Teams play on half a turf field with rebound boards. Experience is not necessary and if there is enough interest we can look at entering some St Anthony’s teams.
Sticks and shinpads can be borrowed from school if needed. Students will need to supply a mouthguard.
If your child is interested in playing or you have any questions please email the school at: sapkings@lism.catholic.edu.au
DONATIONS OF HOCKEY STICKS (ESPECIALLY SMALLER SIZES) WOULD BE GREATLY WELCOMED IF YOU HAVE OLD ONES AROUND THE HOUSE THAT ARE NO LONGER BEING USED!

We are in the process of a stock take. There are a number of books missing or borrowed that need to be returned.
Please look through through your shelves, under beds, your car anywhere you think a school library book might be.
Just drop them off to the office or the classroom for returning.
A BIG THANK YOU for all the books that have been returned.
