Dear Parents
Two weeks without Mrs Pull and the school is still standing. Amazing!!
I have recently heard from Mrs Pull and she and her husband Ron are having a wonderful time. At present they are in Berlin. Lucky people.
Today we have Bishop Homing visiting our school in preparation of tonight's Confirmation ceremony. Bishop Gregory attended most of the classes today and had meaningful conversations with all students. At 6pm the ceremony will taken place at St Anthony
Parish Church. There are approximately 70 children being Confirmed. We wish them all the very best.
This week our school was inundated with Student Teachers from the Southern Cross University who are completing their Preservice Teaching. There are six classes that have students from the SCUniversity and one who has almost completed her Prac Teaching in Kindergarten from Queensland University. We wish them all the very best and hope that their time at St Anthony’s is worthwhile and very rewarding.
On Sunday 11/9/22 our Tournament Of Minds champions will travel to Sydney for the NSW State Tournament. This will be held at the University of NSW . They have really worked hard this week practicing their imaginative skills and their ability to adapt scientific and mathematical thinking. We wish them all the success for Sunday and a safe travel home.
Polding Athletics was held today in Coffs Harbour with several St Anthony’s students representing Lismore Diocese. While we haven’t received all students' results we are very excited by Eden Usher from Year 2 competing in the Multi Class Athletics in the 100m and long jump and she was second in both. She will now go on to the NSW Championships. What an achievement. We wish all the other athletes the best and hope they will join Eden in their given events.
NAPLAN
A report on each child's performance in the Year 3 and Year 5 National Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests was sent home yesterday. NAPLAN tests are designed to provide you, your child and their teachers with information about how your child's learning is progressing and where they need support to improve literacy and numeracy skills. At St Anthony's, we continue to use all forms of data to inform learning and teaching.
