Newsletter Term 4 Week 7 (29.11.24)
Message from the Assistant Principal -Julianne Barlogio
Dear Parents
Today, we gathered to celebrate and honor an incredible leader, a dedicated educator, and a cherished friend—Lynne—as she retires from her role as Principal of St. Anthony’s. It is hard to put into words the profound impact Lynne has had on our school community, but one thing is certain: her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she has touched.
Lynne has always had a unique gift—meeting every child exactly where they were, making them feel loved, valued, and that they truly belonged at St. Anthony’s. She saw each child not just as a student but as an individual, full of potential and promise. She created an environment where every child was encouraged to be the best learner they could be because, as she always reminded us, that was their most important job at St. Anthony’s.
Her care extended far beyond the classroom. Lynne’s leadership was rooted in love and service, embodying the school’s motto in everything she did. Her compassion and unwavering dedication to students, staff, and families formed the foundation of our school community. She believed in supporting not just academic success but the whole person, fostering an environment where everyone could thrive.
Lynne brought joy and creativity to St. Anthony’s in so many ways. The arts flourished under her leadership—she brought singing, drama, music, and instruments to life, inspiring countless students to discover their talents and embrace self-expression. These moments of creativity and joy are a testament to her belief in the power of the arts to build confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging.
Of course, we cannot forget Lynne’s legendary cake-cutting skills. Who else could manage to cut a cake into 370 perfect pieces? That day—and the precision it required—will remain one of the many fond memories we all share.
As we say goodbye to Lynne in her role as principal, we do so with immense gratitude. Her leadership has left an indelible mark on St. Anthony’s, and while we can’t imagine anyone truly stepping into her shoes, we know she has laid a strong foundation for the future.
Lynne, we wish you a long, happy, and healthy retirement filled with all the love and joy you have given to others. May this next chapter bring you plenty of time to relax, explore, and enjoy life’s adventures.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything. You will always be part of the St. Anthony’s family.
Please join me in celebrating Lynne—our principal, our leader, and our inspiration. Happy Retirement!

Something to think and pray about
Finding God in All Things
Today, in our diverse world, we all come to faith from different places and from different backgrounds. Faith in Christ is sort of like the great equaliser. Prayer is one of the spiritual disciplines we all have to learn. We can ask several questions about prayer: How do you say a prayer? What is a personal prayer? How can I grow my prayer life?
Finding God in all things is integral to the Ignatian worldview. ‘The world is charged with the grandeur of God’ (Gerard Manley Hopkins). This God is present in our lives, ‘labouring for us’ in all things; he can be discovered, through faith, in all natural and human events, in history as a whole and, most especially, in the lived experience of each individual person.

We Remember At This Time…
In the face of unpredictable weather, we are reminded of the vulnerability of those without the comfort of a warm home. As we experience freezing cold temperatures, help us to remember those who are without shelter, those forced to flee their homes, and those who have lost everything in their journey, even their country.
We pray for all those in need: for refugees, the homeless, and anyone facing hardship. May we be open to your guidance, Lord, and recognize the times when we are called to act. Help us to see opportunities to assist those we might never have considered, and grant us the compassion and courage to offer whatever support we can.
May we always be aware of your nudges to make a difference in the lives of others, sharing warmth, kindness, and care where it’s needed most.
Volunteers needed!

Flying Start
Week 7 has been filled with of learning about our environment. We have investigated animals that surround us here at Flying Start. These have included Bearded Dragons, Curlews, Snakes and Bats that live in the trees. We have painted, discussed and used materials to recreate all
of these animals whilst using our imagination and knowledge to make each of these unique.
Each day we have spent time at the adventure playground and we have witnessed just how far the preschoolers have come with their gross motor skills and the ability to navigate the climbing wall and the monkey bars. We are certainly lucky to be able to use this playground each and every day.
We have finished our transition to school visits and we are very proud of the way our preschoolers have showed confidence and eagerness to meet new friends and visit the kindy classroom each week. We certainly have had a great week.
